Encounters in Bilbao

The main aim of the encounters is to awaken young people’s curiosity in relation to science and to inspire them to pursue a career in this field. To this end, students study the life and work of the scientists they would meet beforehand in class. During the event, all participating schools had the opportunity to ask questions thanks to an entertaining draw system.

Nobel laureates Donna Strickland and George Smoot talked about their passion for science and research and answered the questions asked by students, sharing details about their lives and experiences throughout the course of their professional careers alongside Pedro Miguel Etxenike who acted as host and chair.
